BLACK DIAMOND/CHILL BIG MOUNTAIN WEEKEND

The Freeride mecca that is Temple Basin will play host to a field of New Zealand and international athletes at the Black Diamond Big Mountain free-ride event this September.

Unquestionably suited to big mountain skiing and riding, Temple Basin offers a number of potential competition zones, and is sure to have athletes frothing at the possibilities.

With huge support from Black Diamond, this event is all about the mountain.  With $1000 up for grabs, and loads of ski equipment and outdoor gear from Black Diamond, it's all on.

Temple is super stoked to host the Black Diamond event - "It's not just about skiing, it's about having fun in the mountains together says Todd Windle, resident Temple Big Mountain guru.  There will be beers, tunes, BBQ and great views from the deck.

Pre-registration is essential.  Registration forms are available via the CHILL website (www.chillout.co.nz) and can be emailed to hq@chillout.co.nz.  Registration for the event is only complete upon payment.  Payment details are emailed to ahtletes upon receipt of registration.  Pre-registration is $25 up until Monday 31st Ausust, or $35 after 1st Sept or on the day.

The event will follow a similar format to other big mountain comps.  Given good weather and snow conditions, competitors will be given two runs on each day, with the best 3 scores of the 4 runs counting towards the overall results.  The format may vary depending on mountain conditions, more information will be given closer to the event.

Accommodation is available on the mountain for the Friday and Saturday nights surrounding the event.  Competitors are strongly recommended to stay on the mountain.  Booking is essential, contact Temple Basin here.
